Update!

Het is erg lang geleden dat ik mijn blog heb geupdate, helaas heeft mijn vriend een rare huidziekte gekregen waardoor ik erg veel wassen moet draaien en alles in mijn huishouden alleen moet doen. De uitslag en jeuk nemen nu gelukkig wat af, dat mag ook wel na ruim 2 weken en na verschillende medicijnen! Ik hoop hem binnenkort weer een knuffel te kunnen geven, dat heb ik al die tijd niet kunnen doen omdat we niet wisten of het besmettelijk was. 

Een van de voordelen van verplicht thuiszitten is wel dat ik heel veel heb kunnen borduren! Ik heb ondertussen 1 pagina helemaal af en ben zeker 3/4 op weg met de pagina daaronder.

Ik was voorheen geneigd om eerst de grote vlakken te borduren en daarna de minder grote etc maar ik bij HAEDs werkt dat niet erg prettig heb ik gemerkt! Ik heb er heel lang over gedaan om de eerste twee boeken af te maken. Het is ook helemaal niet leuk om op het laatst alleen nog maar confettisteekjes te moeten maken, dat duurt zoooo lang! Nu probeer ik dus zo snel mogelijk alle gaatjes te vullen.

Geen foto dit keer. Ik heb er geen tijd voor gehad. Als ik de eerste kolom pagina's af heb, ga ik er een maken. 

It has been a long time since I gave my last update. My boyfriend developed a nasty rash which caused me to to loads of daily laundry and no help for the rest of the house work. Thankfully the rash and itching is going away, after two weeks I am so happy for him! I cannot wait to give him a hug soon, we were afraid it was something contagious so we couldn't touch.

On the positive side: I did get quite a bit stitching done! I finished the first page and am 3/4 on the second page. I work from top till bottom.

I used to do the confetti stitching at the end, but I have learned it is actually much faster to fill in the gaps right away.

I had no time to take a picture, I will take one as soon as I have finished my first pages top to bottom! 

Eerste update / First update

Hier is mijn eerste update! Tot nu toe is het leuk borduren. De stof is 18 ct grijze aida en ik borduur met twee draadjes.

Zoals je kunt zien heb ik geprobeerd te gridden met een uitwasbare pen, speciaal voor stof. Ik ben niet heel erg enthousiast over het resultaat, het puntje van de pen is te wijd waardoor ik niet echt precies kan gridden. Inmiddels heb ik Sulky Metallic garen besteld en ga ik dat gebruiken om te gridden.

Ik borduur vooral 's avonds en in het weekend. Vriendlief is daar niet heel erg blij mee, dus moet ik een manier vinden om hem blij te houden en toch nog wat te kunnen borduren in het weekend! 

Here's my first update! I really like stitching this. The fabric is 18 ct grey aida and I'm stitching with two strands.

Using a fabric pen for gridding works fast, but I'm not a fan of this pen. The tip is too wide. I've ordered Sulky Metallic and will use that for gridding.

I'm stitching in the evening and in the weekend. My boyfriend isn't too happy about that so I'll have to find a way to make him happy and still stitch some!

Verzonden! Sent!

Wat een verrassing toen ik mijn mailbox opende! Daar wachtte een berichtje van de winkel mij op met het heerlijke nieuws dat mijn bestelling gisteren is verzonden. Dat betekent dat als ik mazzel heb, ik vanmiddag de stof in mijn handen heb!!! Hoera!!!!! Heerlijk een middagje stof knippen, omslaan, garen wikkelen en dan mijn stof gridden.

What a surprise when I opened my e-mailbox! A message from the store was waiting for me with the lovely news that my order has been send yesterday! That means that if I'm luck, I'll have the fabric this afternoon!! Hurray!!! I'm looking forward to an afternoon of preparing the fabric and putting threads on my new bobbins.

Nog steeds aan het wachten / Still waiting

Het is ongelofelijk, maar er is nog steeds geen stof binnengekomen! Ik baal hier uiteraard verschrikkelijk van, ik had gehoopt dat de leverancier snel zou leveren aan de winkel. Maar nee dus. De winkel heeft mij vorige week beloofd weer te gaan informeren. En omdat de bobbins bij dezelfde bestelling zitten kan ik zelfs mijn garen nog niet wikkelen!

It's unbelievable, the fabric still isn't delivered! I feel really bummed about it, I hoped the manufacturer would deliver quick to the store. But no. The store promised to inform for me. Because I ordered the bobbins at the same time they are still not in as well so I can't even put my threads on them!

So that's the reason why I didn't update for a while.

I had to order about 60 colours, the rest I found in my stash.

I have to wait a little before I can work with them. I don't have any bobbins left and the fabric still isn't in! The store I ordered kindly updated me, they do not have it in stock right now but they will send it out next week. It's probably a good thing though LOL I spent the last few days tidying up the house. Housekeeping is not something I like and when I have something nice waiting for me (like cross stitching) I have a hard time to keep my house tidy every night.

This little kitty also really liked the floss. I'm sure she's thinking of a way to steal these pretties LOL and acting like she really doesn't care:

I am just so excited, I cannot wait for the fabric to come in. I think it's a repeating sentence on this blog LOL.

Stof besteld

Afgelopen week heb ik de laatste Flower of the Month van EMS afgerond! Ik weet nog niet of ik het ga ophangen of dat ik het cadeau ga geven aan mijn moeder. Ik twijfel ook nog over de kleur van de geborduurde namen, misschien moet ik deze wel met een donkere kleur borduren, de huidige kleur is slecht te lezen. 

Deze week heb ik ook wat stukjes geborduurd op de stofstaaltjes die ik had besteld. Na het testen ben ik erachter gekomen dat ik het vreselijk vind om over 1 draadje te borduren en dat het mij vreselijk frustreert als de draad onder het weefsel door glipt. Borduren moet wel leuk blijven, dus ik heb besloten om dan maar op aida te gaan borduren!

Ik heb gekozen voor een grijze 18 ct aida en ik hoop dat t snel binnenkomt!! Naalden en borduurzijde zijn ook besteld. In de tussentijd vergaap ik mij maar aan alle HAED's die ik op het forum en op de blogs tegenkom.
