Op het HAED forum is veel informatie te vinden over de patronen en alles wat daarbij hoort. Zo ook over de juiste borduurstof. De voorkeuren verschillen nogal, sommigen kiezen voor de aanbevolen stof (25 ct evenweave) maar er zijn er ook die voor nog fijnere (32 count) of voor iets grovere stof (18 ct) kiezen. En over evenweave of aida zijn de meningen verdeeld.
In ieder geval heb ik gelezen dat je een stof moet kiezen waar jij je goed bij voelt. Op de patronen wordt aanbevolen dat je over 1 draadje stof borduurt.
Tot voor kort borduurde ik over 2 draadjes en gebruikte ik evenweave of linnen 32 ct. Maar wat ik nu ga doen, met dit nieuwe patroon? Ik weet het nog niet!
Op het forum vond ik de tip om eerst eens wat stoffen uit te proberen, voordat ik de keuze maak en een grote lap stof bestel. Dat heb ik dus gedaan bij Hardanger.nl zij hadden namelijk een optie om 55 staaltjes voor 12,50 euro te kopen. Als het goed is, is het vandaag op de post gegaan. Nu maar hopen dat het weer en de stakingen bij de TNT geen roet in het eten gooien en dat het snel bezorgd wordt!
Ik vind het trouwens wel jammer dat niet meer zaken de optie hebben om staaltjes te kopen. In Amerika heb ik het wel bij een aantal webwinkels gezien, maar ik baal een beetje van de hoge verzendkosten. Ik ben dus erg blij met deze Nederlandse webwinkel!
Volgende stap: op zoek naar een borduurframe.

What I did learn was to choose whatever feels best for me.HAED recommends to stitch over 1 thread. Up untill now I stitched over 2 threads, using linen or evenweave (32 ct). What I'm going to do now, with this pattern? I have no idea.
At the forum some people suggested to try out different fabrics with different counts, before I order a large amount of fabric. So I ordered about 55 samples for 12.50 euros at hardanger.nl. It's on the way as of today. I hope the weather (I've never seen this much snow in my life!) and the strikes at our postal company are working with me and the package will arrive soon!
It's a pity there aren't more shops in The Netherlands who have the option to order fabric samples. I've seen a few webshops in the US, but the shipping costs are a bit high for my taste. I'm very happy to find hardanger.nl!
Next step: looking for and ordering a frame.
